About JeevanJal Initiative

Dedicated to transforming lives through sustainable water solutions in rural Maharashtra

Our Mission

JeevanJal Initiative was founded in 2018 with a simple yet powerful mission: to ensure every person in rural Maharashtra has access to clean, safe drinking water.

We believe that water is not just a basic necessity, but a fundamental human right. Our work goes beyond just providing water – we're building healthier communities, empowering women and children, and creating sustainable solutions that last for generations.

Through community partnerships, innovative technology, and sustainable practices, we're transforming lives one village at a time.

Our Story

It all started when our founder, Dr. Priya Sharma, witnessed firsthand the water crisis affecting rural communities during her medical outreach programs. She saw children missing school due to waterborne illnesses and women walking miles daily just to collect unsafe water.

What began as a small initiative to install water filters in 5 villages has grown into a comprehensive program that has transformed 37 communities and counting.

Today, we're proud to have built 124 wells, installed hundreds of filtration systems, and trained local communities in water management and maintenance.
